(KCPW News) The cages are full and the kennels are packed, but still the staff at the Humane Society of Utah says they’re continuing to see four times the number of stray animals come through their door this month than last. KCPW’s Jessica Gail explains why officials there think the state’s new fireworks laws are to blame.

Let’s see…fireworks on July 4th – since forever. Fireworks on July 24th in Utah – a long time. If you own a dog, cat, horse, raccoon as a pet, then it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to take care of them when YOU KNOW there will be fireworks.
