Shurtleff Discusses Jeffs Trial as it Reaches Conclusion

If Warren Jeffs’ trial in Texas on charges of sexually assaulting children ends with a conviction, few Utahns will be happier than Attorney General Mark Shurtleff. His office was able to convict the polygamist FLDS leader in 2007 on charges of rape as an accomplice, but those convictions were overturned last year by the Utah Supreme Court.

(KCPW News) If Warren Jeffs’ trial in Texas on charges of sexually assaulting children ends with a conviction, few Utahns will be happier than Attorney General Mark Shurtleff. His office was able to convict the polygamist FLDS leader in 2007 on charges of rape as an accomplice, but those convictions were overturned last year by the Utah Supreme Court.
