“Hardball” Host Discusses Journalism in Salt Lake City

But it was journalism that was the focus of the “Hardball” host’s recent visit to Salt Lake City, where he spoke over the weekend for the McCarthey Family Foundation’s annual lecture series, “In Praise of Independent Journalism.”

(KCPW News) MSNBC Anchor Chris Matthews is not one to shy away from sharing his opinion on all things political. But it was journalism that was the focus of the “Hardball” host’s recent visit to Salt Lake City, where he spoke over the weekend for the McCarthey Family Foundation’s annual lecture series, “In Praise of Independent Journalism.” KCPW’s Jeff Robinson caught up with Matthews before the event, asking him about his view of what independent journalism actually is. He also spoke with the McCarthey Family Foundation’s Phil McCarthey.
