Politics Up Close: Pete Ashdown Makes 2nd Bid for U.S. Senate

(KCPW News) Internet entrepreneur Pete Ashdown is once again venturing into politics. The founder and CEO of Salt Lake City-based Internet service provider XMission will make another run for the U.S. Senate in 2012, hoping to tackle the influence of money in government. But how does the Democratic candidate hope to find more success this time than when he first challenged Republican Senator Orrin Hatch in 2006? Ashdown joined us in the studio to discuss his campaign.

Then, we often talk about how the lack of immigration reform affects families, but what about employers? An upcoming panel discussion at the City Library will explore that question next week, and so did we, talking with immigration attorney Roger Tsai, who helps companies secure visas for their workers.

More information on Tuesday’s panel discussion organized by the Enriching Utah Coalition is available on the City Library’s website.
