Liljenquist Sticks With Debate Fight

Salt Lake Tribune Washington Correspondent Thomas Burr

(KCPW News) Republican Senate hopeful Dan Liljenquist isn’t giving up on his efforts to get more than one debate with his opponent, incumbent Senator Orrin Hatch, between now and the June 26 primary, saying he’ll even debate a cardboard cutout of the senior lawmaker if he doesn’t show up. But does his campaign stand to gain anything by sticking with this strategy? Every Friday, we talk with Thomas Burr, Washington Correspondent for the Salt Lake Tribune and author of Political Cornflakes, a daily, online round-up of Utah politics. He spoke with KCPW’s Jeff Robinson from Washington.
