Army Corps Awards $22 million Contract to Dugway

(KCPW News) A $22 million dollar expansion is coming to the U.S. Army’s Dugway Proving Grounds in Tooele. Friday, Carlos Lazo, Public Affairs Specialist with the Army Corps of Engineers said the Army announced the money will be used to expand the Life Science Test facility there..

“What this contract is for is for 41,200 square-foot addition, it is going to begin construction in spring next year, 2013 until May 2015,” Lazo said.

The facility provides defensive, development and operation testing and training in chemical and biological warfare. Lazo says the addition will increase research, design and administrative areas. Big D Construction in Salt Lake City was awarded the contract.
