West Valley Council to Issue Decision on Powell Police Records

(KCPW News)  The family of missing West Valley woman Susan Cox Powell will find out this evening if the West Valley City Council will approve the release of police records relating to the investigation of her disappearance.

According to a release from West Valley City, the council will meet in a private session to sign an order before notifying the Cox family’s attorney of its decision.  Mayor Pro Tem Corey Rushton, will then make the decision public.

The West Valley City Police Department has argued releasing the records could have a negative impact on the investigation.  Meanwhile the Cox family has said with the prime suspect, Josh Powell, and his two children now deceased there is no reason for the files to be withheld.
