(KCPW News) A lot could be at stake for Salt Lake City in the 2012 election. Mayor Ralph Becker has spent time recently in Washington, urging Congress not to make drastic, across-the-board cuts that would trickle down to the local level. He joined us to talk about his hopes and fears about the elections, and a proposal that would change historic preservation plans in Salt Lake City.
Then, as Democrat Scott Howell has taken jabs at Republican incumbent Orrin Hatch, independent Senate candidate Bill Barron has been on a 1,200 mile campaign tour of Utah… on his bicycle. The candidate’s campaign is driven by his experience in renewable energy and desire to reduce climate change by putting a fee on carbon. He talked with us about his plan.
