(KCPW News) Just under 32,000 people were booked into the Salt Lake County Jail in 2011. Republican candidate for County Mayor Mark Crockett says that’s too many, largely because it’s costing the county too much money: on average, $90 dollars a night for each inmate. Thrusday, he held a news conference talking about what changes he would make if elected, but as KCPW’s Jessica Gail reports, Sheriff Jim Winder says he doesn’t understand the system.
