In the wake of an historic ruling striking down Utah’s ban on same-sex marriage, a number of gay Utahns have received marriage licenses and tied the knot. But with an appeal pending from the state and a hearing scheduled for Monday morning, it remains to be seen how much longer new licenses will be issued to same-sex couples. KCPW’s Roger McDonough has this story.
*NOTE: Since the time this story was filed, the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals has denied the state of Utah’s emergency motion for a stay and Federal District Judge Robert Shelby denied a separate request by the state for a stay.
