The Hinckley Institute Radio Hour (Original Air Date: March 18, 2020) — This week on the program, local emergency experts discuss natural disaster threats facing Utah and how we can best prepare for them. From wildfires to floods to earthquakes the experts emphasize why preparedness is key to public safety. They also lay out the local, state and federal resources available to those affected by disasters and how climate change can increase the frequency and severity of these events.
On the panel are John Flynt, Emergency Preparedness Coordinator for Salt Lake City; Clint Mecham, Emergency Manager for Salt Lake County; and Janna Wilkinson, Recovery and Mitigation Planner for the Utah Division of Emergency Management. Moderating the discussion is Jeff Graviet, Director of the University of Utah Emergency Management Services.
