You frame the criminal justice reform and seat belt laws as “not necessarily conservative,” but keep missing a major consideration, which is that both will save millions in tax dollars. Jails will now remain flat in prisoner numbers instead of projected massive growth, and seat belts prevent underinsured people from costing millions in emergency medical and disability costs that the rest of us have to pay for. Isn’t that conservative?
Meaning responsible conservation of funds (and lives in both cases!)
