Myths & Realities of Cyber Conflict

dsc01297The Hinckley Institute Radio Hour (Air date: October 26 ~ 29, 2016) – Brandon Valeriano, author and researcher on cyber conflict, spoke at the Hinckley Institute of Politics. In 2015 he co-authored Cyber War versus Cyber Realities: Cyber Conflict in the International System, in which he argues that cyber attacks as a strategy of war actually have a limited impact.  He argues that cyber actions undertaken by states may be useful for espionage or disruption, but little else.  Ultimately, he says, the preparation and engagement of large-scale cyber conflicts, if they’re successful, will mostly hurt civilians.  Brandon Verliano’s talk was recorded on October 5, 2016.
