The Hinckley Institute Radio Hour (Air date: November 9 ~ 12, 2016) – This week the Hinckley Institute hosted Ambassador Pierre-Richard Prosper. Ambassador Prosper prosecuted the atrocities of Rwandan war criminals in the late 1990s as part of the United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda, and he succeeded in convincing the Tribunal to recognize rape as an act of genocide. Prosper says that similar to Rwanda, atrocities and genocide is occurring again today in Northern Iraq and in Nigeria and in other parts of the world, and that the international community – lead by the U.S. Government – needs to take action.
Prosper’s work with the Tribunal is examined in a new documentary film called the Uncondemned, which will have a limited screening next week, November 18-24, at Salt Lake City’s Broadway Centre Theater.
