Baby Giraffe Born at Hogle Zoo

Salt Lake City is now home to a six-foot-tall baby girl… who happens to be a giraffe. The new giraffe was born at Hogle Zoo a week and a half ago and is now out for everyone to meet. Primary Giraffe Keeper Cindy Segneri says Kipenzi, the nine-year-old mother, was pregnant for 14 months before starting to deliver while out on exhibit.

Eagle Killings Spark Reward

Federal and local law enforcement officials are trying to find who is responsible for killing eagles across the state. Tom Tidwell with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service says more than a dozen golden and bald eagles have been poisoned or shot in Utah over the past two years.

Utah animal welfare groups are offering rewards for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for burying a kitten in concrete in Colorado City, Arizona, the twin city of Hildale, Utah. Bears Welcomed Back to Hogle Zoo
