Hundreds of thousands of voters across the state showed up to vote this morning. Some had specific issues that drew them to the polls, for others, it was about exercising a constitutional right. KCPW’s Jessica Gail met up with some Sugar House voters at Sprague Library and put together this audio postcard.
Utah Governor Gary Herbert and his Democratic challenger Peter Cooke have debated several times this election season about their visions for the state. On Wednesday it was time for the candidates for Lieutenant Governor to debate for the first time, and as KCPW’s Jessica Gail reports, both men have different priorities for Utah.

The Utah Judicial Performance Evaluation Commission is conducting a statewide series of courtroom observations, having volunteers observe judges and report on how they conduct themselves in court. Anthony Schofield, chair of the commission, says volunteers examine a judge’s neutrality and respect for those on trial.
With the election just two-and-a-half weeks away, having money to spend is going to be important for Utah’s Congressional candidates, especially in one key area: advertising. And while Democratic incumbent Jim Matheson had his most successful quarter yet, raising $471,000 since July, his GOP opponent Mia Love took in more than a million.
