KCPW, the Utah Nonprofits Association, and Utah Public Radio are partnering to spotlight the positive impacts of local nonprofit organizations.
“Utah Cares” features a series of stories from diversified nonprofits in an effort to increase the visibility of nonprofits across the state, and to inspire people to give to organizations and community groups that are essential to the health and well-being of Utah.
KCPW will air “Utah Cares” through December 22nd. You can hear it at 8:30 during Morning Edition, at 11:30 during World Have Your Say, at 1:30 during Fresh Air, and at 4:50 during All Things Considered.

Shriners Hospitals for Children®provide orthopedic care to children around the world regardless of their ability to pay. Alyssa Wilson serves as a care coordinator for the Shriner’s outreach clinic in Juarez, Mexico.
Ten Thousand Villages
Supporting entrepreneurial artisans in developing areas of the world to provide income for them and their families through fair trade.
Ten Thousand Villages is a fair trade retailer of artisan-crafted home décor, personal accessories and gift items from developing countries around the world. Ina Jordan has volunteered with the organization since November 2001.

The National Association of Social Workers provides advocacy, networking and professional development for social workers throughout the United States. Diane Calloway-Graham serves as the treasurer of NASW’s Utah Chapter.
Utah Community Forest Council
A clearinghouse of urban and community forestry information.
Celebrating 20 years of service, the Utah Community Forest Council has been involved with the planting and stewardship of millions of Utah trees. As Sandy City’s urban forester, Mike Marett works closely with the Council as a partner in Utah’s tree care industry.
Utah Dispute Resolution
Utah Dispute Resolution provides low- income Utah residents with quality mediation services and training to successfully and cooperatively resolve disputes. Bill Downes serves as the organization’s chair.

Patty Loosle and her husband established Share Parents of Cache and Box Elder Counties after having lost two children to stillbirth and infant death. When Sarah Gunnell’s baby was stillborn, Share Parents was there to help.
