Jazz Guitarists Corey Christiansen guests with Rowland Hall’s Jazz Band @ Rowland Hall Middle School Lincoln Campus

You don’t have to be a jazz music aficionado to have heard of preeminent jazz guitarist and educator Corey Christiansen http://coreychristiansen.com/. But you might be surprised to know he will be a guest artist performing with Rowland Hall’s jazz band, Wednesday, April 30th at 7:00 p.m. The concert at Rowland Hall Middle School is free and open to the public.

Rowland Hall band director and music teacher Bret Jackson is excited to host Corey Christiansen and said he “hopes jazz enthusiasts in the larger community will attend the concert.”

“Corey is a fabulous recording artist, writer, educator and performer; he has played and taught in literally every type of situation around the globe for the last decade,” Jackson said. “He is big time in the professional jazz world.”

Jackson, who holds a Doctorate of Musical Arts, is himself respected in the jazz community and has continued his professional performance career along side his passion for teaching — the combination keeps him in touch with what is going on in education and in the clubs.
