Peter Pan, The High-Flying Broadway Musical @ Butterfield Park
Jul 11 @ 7:30 pm – Jul 22 @ 7:30 pm
Peter Pan, The High-Flying Broadway Musical @ Butterfield Park

The Herriman Arts Council presents the classic family musical PETER PAN. Filled with amazing flying effects, Peter Pan recounts the adventures of the three Darling children as they fly away from their nursery into the magic and wonder of Neverland. The role of Peter Pan will be played by Jocelyn Hansen (Grace Farrelll in HAC’s 2012 Production of Annie), Captain Hook will be played by Stephen Kerr (co-director) who was most recently seen in Hale Center Theatres’ productions of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and A Christmas Carol. The role of Wendy will be played by Bailee Johnson, who was recently seen in the title role of Annie last summer and the main role in the 2012 movie Christmas Oranges. Co-director, Robyn Bishop, who is also the Theatre Consultant for Jordan School District and former high school drama teacher at Alta and Jordan High Schools, brings a wealth of experience to the arts council and this year’s production.

The Herriman Community Orchestra, conducted by Michelle Willis, is comprised of 25 musicians and adds vitality and richness to the production of Peter Pan. James Crane and the Herriman Arts Council feel blessed and proud of the orchestra, and celebrate the wonder and intimacy a live orchestra adds to a stage production.

HAC has made a name for itself in community theatre and has a reputation for producing high quality, family friendly, and affordable entertainment. In fact, it can be argued that HAC’s productions surpass the typical community theatre experience. Peter Pan is the ninth summer production sponsored by the HAC and their last two productions, Annie (2012) and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (2012) received raving reviews and attracted record attendance. It is worthy to note that both shows were featured in the top five most accessed shows at utahtheatrebloggers.com, a website that showcases and reviews all theatre opportunities in Utah.
