Our Community Calendar is a resource we offer to all qualified nonprofits. Community Calendar airs throughout the day on KCPW. Featured events are chosen at random. You will also find all current Community Calendar events listed here.

To submit an event to the Community Calendar, the event must meet the following criteria:

  • The event must take place in Utah.
  • The organization promoting the event  must be a qualified 501 (c) (3) charity or political subdivision.
  • The event cannot promote a religious organization or individual.

If your event meets these criteria, click Post Your Event below. Include your contact information in case we have any questions. Otherwise, your event may not get published.

KCPW would like to encourage you to make the most of your post with a featured image and links to your organization.

This two-day introduction to Microsoft Access, a relational database application, will help you track the critical information that is the lifeline of a well-run company. In today’s market, those with database administration or management skills are in demand. Concepts include database design principles, creating and using tables, creating table relationships, creating and running queries, creating and using forms, and creating and using reports. Familiarity with use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.) and navigation in a Microsoft Windows environment is required.

Woven throughout with the thread of ethical practice, this class will train the nonprofit board and staff on how the board gets down to the real business of oversight and governance: making policy, articulating the mission of the organization, and sustaining its vision. You’ll learn how board members and staff work to create clear, precise and practical policy statements; delegate authority to the executive director or CEO; set up systems for self-governance; and oversee and assure financial sustainability of the organization. You’ll also hear from topic-specific guests in this class, e.g., case studies on financial review, successful annual board fundraising efforts; writing and rewriting by-laws; executive evaluation; fund development staff and development committee interaction, etc.
