Little Chick Classes: Fall Session @ Tracy Aviary
Sep 1 – Nov 30 all-day
Little Chick Classes: Fall Session @ Tracy Aviary

Bring your little ones to stretch their wings with our educators and birds in Tracy Aviary’s Preschool and Kindergarten classes.

Our classes are offered every other week over a three-month period. Knowing how busy Moms’ and Dads’ schedules can be, each 2-3 and 3-4 class will run as a weekday session, and a Saturday session. 4-5 classes are held on alternating Saturdays, so that you and your busy kindergartener can attend outside of school.

Classes feature a special bird visitor, a fun craft or activity, a snack, a sing-along song, and an engaging story connecting with our age-appropriate themes.

All classes are designed for parents to attend and participate with their child.

Register now! Space for each class is limited to 12!

For more information, a class schedule and to sign up, please visit http://www.tracyaviary.org/pre-k-classes/

Scientist in the Spotlight – Fire Ecology with Mitch Power @ Natural History Museum of Utah

There have been countless fires since the last ice age. What can the charcoal of the past tell us about the future of our world? Mitchell Power illustrates how geomorphologists use core samples to predict the world’s ever-changing climate. Mitchell Power is curator of the Garrett Herbarium at the Utah Museum of Natural History.

Garden After Dark @ Red Butte Garden
Oct 18 @ 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Garden After Dark @ Red Butte Garden

October brings the beloved GARDEN AFTER DARK. An indoor/outdoor, costume and kid-friendly romp through the Garden to celebrate Halloween. With crafts, activities, light displays and more, this is an event you definitely don’t want to miss!
This year the theme is “Fearsome Flora,” so join us in a Garden “whodunit” as we safely uncover details of carnivorous, poisonous and downright dangerous plants found in nature.
Thursdays through Saturdays, October 17, 18 and 19 and 24, 25 and 26, from 6-9PM. Tickets on sale now. Admission is $12 per person.

Granary Row @ Granary Row
Oct 18 @ 6:00 pm – 11:00 pm
Granary Row @ Granary Row

Granary Row is a pop-up market and festival space. It’s a community space, as well as a breeding ground for local businesses.

Granary Row is the very sort of “big idea” that it hopes to foster — a bold urban venture aimed at inspiring and fostering the entrepreneurial ambitions of Salt Lake City’s creative class. At its core, it’s an experiment in ware-steading the Granary with microventures that will make the District their home — in turn sustaining the neighborhood as a place where makers live, work, and play!
