Another bonus episode from Slamdance and Sundance Film Festival takes us first to an interview with filmmaker Maite Alberdi. Her documentary film, THE MOLE AGENT, finds an older private investigator staged as a mole inside a retirement home to watch over a concerned family’s mother. We also speak with the first female Saudi filmmaker (and Sundance World Cinema Dramatic Juror), Haifaa al-Mansour, about her documentary, THE PERFECT CANDIDATE. Producer Brad Nieman also joins the conversation regarding the story of a young Saudi doctor’s fight in her patriarchal country. We finish the episode with EXIL, a narrative film from Visar Morina that explores the feeling of not belonging and not being wanted.
