Today on “In the Hive,” the plan for Utah’s flagship university to reopen, with various precautions in place, this fall. The University of Utah’s ‘Return to Campus’ plan calls for a hybrid of in-person and online classes. Masks will be required. But what happens if Utah’s sustained spike in coronavirus cases continues? Will the U reevaluate its decision to reopen? What health safety measures are being taken for students, faculty and staff? And what is the impact at the school of the new rule from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement barring foreign students from remaining in the country if they attend institutions that hold entirely-online coursework this fall?
