All of Utah is in extreme or exceptional drought, according to the U.S. Drought Monitor.

A recent study from UCLA identified the current drought as the deepest dry spell the American West has experienced in more than 1,200 years. Climate change is exacerbating the problem; that same study attributed 42% of the drought to global warming from the burning of fossil fuels.

Today on “In the Hive,” we examine one action Utah residents can take in response: collecting rainwater for residential use.
