After six years leading the Utah Department of Health, Executive Director David Sundwall announced his resignation yesterday. The state’s health commissioner has had no shortage of problems to deal with in recent years, from the H1N1 flu epidemic to enrollment surges in Medicaid and a state lawmaker’s proposal that his whole department be eliminated.

(KCPW News) After six years leading the Utah Department of Health, Executive Director David Sundwall announced his resignation yesterday.  The state’s health commissioner has had no shortage of problems to deal with in recent years, from the H1N1 flu epidemic to enrollment surges in Medicaid and a state lawmaker’s proposal that his whole department be eliminated.  KCPW’s Jeff Robinson spoke with Dr. Sundwall about his resignation, asking him whether it was entirely his decision to step down.
