The polygamous Lehi family made famous for their TLC television series “Sister Wives” is challenging Utah’s anti-polygamy law. Kody Brown and his family are filing suit tomorrow in a Salt Lake City federal court, hoping to protect polygamous families like theirs from punishment under a law they and their attorney say is unconstitutional.

(KCPW News) The polygamous Lehi family made famous for their TLC television series “Sister Wives” is challenging Utah’s anti-polygamy law. Kody Brown and his family are filing suit tomorrow in a Salt Lake City federal court, hoping to protect polygamous families like theirs from punishment under a law they and their attorney say is unconstitutional. As KCPW’s Whittney Evans reports, the Utah Attorney General’s office notes the suit is somewhat different from previous court challenges.

    Despite my personal objection to the practice, I try to have a live-and-let-live attitude. If it is what they as individuals truly want, if they are not breaking any other laws in the process and if their children are free to choose or not choose the lifestyle as they grow older, I have no problem with polygamy being legal.
