Former Salt Lake County Councilman Mark Crockett will become the third Republican candidate for county mayor tomorrow as he announces his bid at the Magna Library.

(KCPW News) Former Salt Lake County Councilman Mark Crockett will become the third Republican candidate for county mayor tomorrow as he announces his bid at the Magna Library. He tells KCPW that while the other GOP candidates in the race are familiar with the county…

“I suppose relative to others, though, I may have done more in executive leadership roles and actually leading larger companies, and working with large, large organizations to make all the changes that they need to make,” says Crockett.

Crockett also believes his vision for the county, focusing on its core human services, is unique. Other Republicans in the race include County Councilman Richard Snelgrove and Auditor Gary Ott. On the Democratic side, State Senators Ross Romero and Ben McAdams are vying for the post.

Crockett was first elected to the county council in 2004 in District 4 on the east side, but lost his bid for re-election to Democrat Jani Iwamoto in 2008.
