Play

Both Sides of the Aisle – Natalie Gochnour is joined on The Right by Sen. Dan McCay, R-Riverton, and on The Left by Shireen Ghorbani, former Salt Lake County Council member. They discuss the deadline to withdraw U.S. forces from Afghanistan, what the withdrawal means for the Biden presidency, the House passing a $3.5 trillion budget resolution and the John Lewis Voting Rights Act. They also discuss the COVID-19 situation in Utah, what can be done to alleviate the state’s overwhelmed resources and the Pfizer vaccine’s full authorization.

I don’t suppose Dan McCay reads the newspapers (Trib.), but your last conversation about COVID, and his response was just too head-in-the-sand-and-go-to-Lake-Powell DUMB. Like; my in-box is 100% opposed to masks, and I know a guy that wore the mask, got the shots, and he still got the virus. Sounds a lot like the Senator that brought a snowball to the Senate to prove global warming is not a thing. I must say I am astounded at the patience you and Shireen have just not to explode! I know you said you disagree. The more painful thing is that I am pretty sure his constituents believe the very same thing. Our political system ($$$ + power + fabricated truth) is BROKEN. P.S. I love your show. It is as close as I can come to listed to “the other side”.
