Dan can say what he wants about Oregon and Maryland congressional maps but at least both sides of the aisle have some representation, unlike the all or nothing 100% stranglehold the Republicans have created in Utah. Disenfranchised is an accurate word for the diverse citizenry of Salt Lake.

It’s dis-heartening to hear no believable reasoning why the legislature ignored other re-districting maps other than the one that split up areas that vote democratic. To expect people to believe Dan’s “rationale” is a joke; it’s pure politics favoring a facist party and nothing else.

    “Fascist party”?

    Fascism:
“A system of government marked by centralization of authority under a dictator, a capitalist economy subject to stringent governmental controls, violent suppression of the opposition, and typically a policy of belligerent nationalism and racism.”

I’d be interested to hear what makes you say the the Utah Republican party, or Republican party in general, is ‘fascist’.

From Oxford – Fascism: an extreme right-wing political system or attitude that is in favour of strong central government, aggressively promoting your own country (party) or race above others, and that does not allow any opposition
