Behind the Headlines

State may require sex-assault reporting, SLC is peeved over port plan and what’s in UTA’s potential new name?

State senators pass a bill to overhaul the Utah Transit Authority, starting with its name. The Utah House votes to require public universities to share allegations of sexual assault with police, regardless of the victims’ wishes. And state officials plan an inland port for Salt Lake City’s northwest quadrant, but the city expected to have more input in that decision.

At 9 a.m. Friday, Salt Lake Tribune reporter Benjamin Wood, senior managing editor Matt Canham and editorial page editor George Pyle join KCPW’s Roger McDonough to talk about the week’s top stories.

Each Friday morning, stream “Behind the Headlines” online at kcpw.org or tune in to KCPW 88.3 FM or Utah Public Radio for the broadcast.
