The Hinckley Institute Radio Hour – This week on the program, we celebrate the start of Black History Month by highlighting local black history-in-the-making—featuring a panel of local black activists describing their experiences navigating activism and politics in the areas of grassroots organizing, electoral politics, academia and advocacy. They also explore how their work impacts them personally and what they hope to achieve on the local, state and national levels.
On the panel are Dr. Darius Bost, assistant professor of ethnic studies at the University of Utah; Natalie Pinkney, South Salt Lake City Council member; Rosine Nibishaka, President of the East High School Black Student Union; Olivia Winston, Vice President of the East High School Black Student Union; and Lex Scott, founder of Black Lives Matter Utah. Moderating the panel is Teshia G. Koffi, Chair of the Black Faculty and Staff Association at the U.
