Our Community Calendar is a volunteer-run resource offered to all qualified nonprofits. Community Calendar events are highlighted live, on-air throughout the day on KCPW. Featured events are chosen at random. You will also find all current Community Calendar events listed here at kcpw.org.
The Community Calendar also has a physical home. Following the criteria listed below, mail or bring professional materials (no handwritten signs please) promoting your event to the KCPW studios at 210 East 400 South, Suite 10, Salt Lake City, UT 84111. We’ll happily hang them in our window for all Library Square traffic to see.
To submit an event to the Community Calendar, the event must meet the following criteria:
- The event must take place in Utah.
- The organization promoting the event must be a qualified 501(c)(3) charity or political subdivision.
- The event cannot promote a religious organization or individual.
If your event meets these criteria, click “Post Your Event” below. Include your contact information in case we have any questions. Otherwise, your event may not get published.
We encourage you to make the most of your post by adding a featured image and links to your organization. Utilize the provided field boxes (i.e. location, ticket information) to display information as accurately and quickly as possible.
Please do not submit duplicate postings for the same event. If you are posting a class or workshop that requires registration, list just the first instance in the date and time, and include the details for subsequent classes in the description.
NOTE: approved events are typically posted to the Community Calendar within seven days of your submission.

Global Joy: Festivals, Holidays & Celebrations Around the World is a Wasatch Camera Club photographic exhibit. This show will feature images from around the world (including here at home!) focused on holidays, festivals and celebrations. Examples include the obvious such as Christmas, New Year’s Eve, Hanukkah but every culture, country, ethnicity, and religion have their own. These holidays, festivals and celebrations may be unique to peoples, but they are also universal expressions of awe, love, devotion, and happiness . . . Global Joy!

Torrey Chamber Music Festival will have concerts June 2-4 and a strings camp June 5-7. The Festival provides an opportunity for communities around Torrey, Utah to enjoy exceptional music performances in intimate settings and to provide the local youth a unique opportunity to achieve excellence as they perform along with the festival artists. This year’s program features familiar Classical favorites that everyone can recognize, like Vivaldi’s “Spring” from the four seasons, and masterworks by Dvorak and Ravel, alongside Utah premieres of current vanguard composers and jazz-influenced classical musicians like the Turtle Island String Quartet. Whether you’re a seasoned classical music fan, or you’ve never listened to a live string quartet, there’s something for you to enjoy! Torrey Chamber Music Festival is a program of the Entrada Institute.
The Ogden Music Festival is a 3-day outdoor event featuring bluegrass, folk, and Americana music held at Weber County’s Fort Buenaventura with award-winning artists The Dan Tyminski Band, Thee Sacred Souls, Danielle Ponder, John Craigie, Los Texmaniacs featuring La Marisoul and more! Band and instrument workshops led by mainstage artists. Kids activities include an Instrument Petting Zoo, crafts, and games. Camping is available on-site, purchase camping with your 3-Day Pass. Our event benefits all Utahns, offering a glimpse at how traditional practices have been preserved and upheld in our state.
This festival not only connects new Americans, immigrants, and refugees to the more historic ethnic groups in our state, but also brings our diverse ethnic communities together.
Our celebration is an opportunity for all to reunite with old friends; build new friendships; meet our various communities, leaders, and elders; and seek new opportunities to be involved and support our diverse Utah Asian communities.
This year’s festival will honor our communities through traditional and modern performances, children’s activities, and spotlights on cultural, nonprofit, and commercial organizations. As always, food trucks and food booths featuring local businesses will be on site serving delicious food and refreshments. We’ve listened to your feedback and are actively working to bring you the best event possible!

Friday, June 9th at 7:30 pm the Black, Bold & Brilliant Series and Outdoor Auntie in partnership with Tracy Aviary are proud to present the Wild & Scenic Film Festival outdoor film screening showcasing a selection of films that celebrate Black, Indigenous, People of Color, and LGBTQ+ communities engaging with outdoor sports, public lands, and environmental activism.
All tickets include admission to Tracy Aviary and will be donated to Outdoor Afro National and Black, Bold & Brilliant. We’ll have food and refreshments for purchase at the Bird Feeder Cafe. Come early to check out the birds and stay for the film.

Calling all music lovers to come and join the Utah Film Center on Wednesday, June 14 at 7 pm at The City Library in Downtown Salt Lake for a free film screening of Squaring the Circle (The Story of Hipgnosis).
Presented as part of the Utah Film Center’s Through the Lens Series and in partnership with KUER’s Radiowest, Squaring the Circle (The Story of Hipgnosis) is a documentary that takes you behind the scenes of the duo who created some of the most recognizable album covers in history like Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side of the Moon and Wish You Were Here.
Hipgnosis went from making covers for their mates (the likes of David Gilmour and Syd Barrett) to establishing themselves as the driving force behind visual identities of some of the most popular artists of the 1970s (think Led Zeppelin and Paul McCartney). Their methods were unconventional, their budgets often unreasonable, but they were fearless visionaries who artfully manipulated photographic images long before computer graphics became ubiquitous.
After the screening will be a Q&A moderated by KUER’s RadioWest host, Doug Fabrizio with producers Trish D. Chetty and Ged Doherty and local artist Jann Haworth, co-creator of The Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band album cover.

This is an opportunity to meet with Airport and Aviation Industry professionals to explore careers at the Salt Lake City International Airport. The fair starts at noon and goes until 4 p.m., however early entry for military personnel will be from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. This includes active duty, veterans, military spouses and members of the National Guard or reserves.
In this workshop, participants experience accelerated collaborations through brief, brainstorming sessions and use of the Risograph as a generative tool for making. The ideation process begins with interpreting a story from audio samples and continues with prompts that allow participants to accidentally recreate/rethink/mash-up stories. These audio stories and a shared reserve of found images serve as catalysts for small groups to visualize an intersection of the narratives and develop two-page spreads for inclusion in a collective booklet. Each participant leaves with a copy or two of the editioned book and the skills to print on the spectacular Risograph.
Utah Council for Citizen Diplomacy presents The Bellwether International Symposium on Bridging the Religious Divide, which welcomes leading global experts to explore critical questions about what religious freedom means in Utah, the nation, and around the world.
This symposium aims to bring leading experts, academics, policymakers, researchers, authors, and activists together to explore the complexity and intersectionality of this topic through the following subthemes:
– Deconstruction of the term “Religious Freedom” on a global scale
– Preventing religious threats that lead to extremism in the United States
– Building bridges across faiths by understanding and respecting difference
With an anticipated attendance of more than 200 individuals, the Bridging The Religious Divide Symposium will strengthen the collective impact by bringing together people who work or are interested in this topic daily. Furthermore, benefits to symposium attendees include:

As summer brings us those long sunshine-filled days, Utah Film Center is excited to announce the return of its Free Outdoor Summer Film Series at Liberty Park in Salt Lake City. Pull out your favorite blanket, grab those delicious treats, and enjoy the long-awaited soft warm breezes of a perfect Utah summer night.
Each week will take you on an epic journey — riding whitewater in the world’s deepest canyon, help a fearless shell look for its home, swoon with comic book nerds looking for love, and take risks with a big-hearted Australian environmentalist who has even bigger fishy friends. We’ll also be exploring the magic of cinema with legendary rock and soul icons, two volcanologists, and a breakdance crew that is hotter than a St. George day in August.

Little Richard: I Am Everything
Like a quasar burning past the gaslight, director Lisa Cortés’ eye-opening documentary explodes the whitewashed canon of American pop music. Little Richard: I Am Everything shines a clarifying light on the Black, queer origins of rock ’n’ roll, and establishes the genre’s big bang: Richard Wayne Penniman. Testimonials from legendary musicians and cultural figures, Black and queer scholars, Penniman’s family and friends, and interviews with the artist himself all exuberantly reclaim a history that was willfully appropriated by white artists and institutions.
