(KCPW News) The Supreme Court ruling Citizens United has swiftly become one of the most criticized judicial decisions in history. The 2010 ruling led to the creation of so-called Super PACs, collecting unlimited contributions in support of candidates from both parties. Now, a nationwide movement called Move to Amend seeks to overturn that decision, and it’s picking up steam here in Salt Lake City. We talked with local organizer Ashley Sanders.
Then, as Weber County’s top prosecutor, Dee Smith has tackled tough cases, including that of Matthew David Stewart, who’s accused of killing an Ogden police officer. Now, he’s hoping to become Utah’s top prosecutor, as a Democratic candidate for attorney general. We talked with him about the experience he brings to the race.
