(KCPW News) The Utah State Board of Regents announced that Associate Commissioner of Higher Education David Buhler will succeed William Sederberg as commissioner.
The board conducted interviews with the finalists today. The appointment received the blessing of Governor Gary Herbert, but still needs to be approved by the state senate.
Buhler served on the Salt Lake City Council from 2000 to 2007, and ran unsuccessfully for Salt Lake City Mayor against Ralph Becker in 2007.
Sederberg is retiring in August after serving 4 years as commissioner.
