Behind the Headlines

‘Behind the Headlines’: Public Lands Initiative, Utah’s water plans and Mormon Republicans (9/16/16)

Play

A New Mexico city will be the site of a new Facebook data center despite West Jordan’s efforts to host the facility. Utah Reps. Rob Bishop and Jason Chaffetz present their Public Lands Initiative to a House Natural Resources subcommittee in the hopes of passing it before Congress adjourns. Utah officials might not make a state water management draft plan available to the public. And fewer Mormons in the U.S. identify as Republicans this election season.

On Friday at 9 a.m., Salt Lake Tribune reporters Emma Penrod, Robert Gehrke and Thomas Burr, as well as editorial writer George Pyle, join The Salt Lake Tribune’s Benjamin Wood to talk about the week’s top stories.

Each Friday morning, stream “Behind the Headlines” on KCPW.org or tune in to KCPW or Utah Public Radio for the broadcast.
