(KCPW News)  Come December, Jim Karpowitz will walk away from the only job he’s known for more than three decades – managing Utah’s wildlife.  Karpowitz just announced his retirement after 34 years with the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources, a division he has directed since 2005.  Over the years, he has been credited with developing a nationally recognized bighorn sheep restoration program, as well as expanding hatchery and community fishing programs.  Karpowitz spoke with KCPW’s Eric Ray about his career, and what he feels were his greatest accomplishments:

Mike Styler, executive director of the Utah Department of Natural Resources, says he wants to name a replacement before Karpowitz leaves office.
