You did it!

This station’s listeners have always been its backbone. Today, though, KCPW is especially grateful to the hundreds of people who have contributed over the past few days. We are pleased to say that we made our goal and will be able to continue to broadcast, thanks to you.

What’s happening next?

We are working toward a more sustainable model for this station. Looking at the new fiscal year, we have our work cut out for us to cover the year’s expenses while also actively attacking vendor debts as well as our long outstanding debt from the original purchase from Community Wireless of Park City.
And so, we are rolling this “Help Save KCPW” campaign into a “Make KCPW Sustainable” campaign.

In the coming weeks, we will be publishing online more information about the station’s finances as well as a budget so that the community can see at any given time the state of KCPW. No more surprises.

What else are we doing?

We are looking to diversify our funding sources. Just last month, a volunteer grant writer has come on board and will be working closely with one of our staff. We have also started a volunteer outreach project to help build underwriting and program sponsorship. Anyone interested in volunteering their time to help with these efforts, please contact Lauren Colucci at

Additionally, we are in the process of hiring a new position to assist with business development, and we will be holding an extra pledge drive at the end of the month. This extra pledge drive will help keep the proverbial wolf from the door as we work on building these other revenue streams.

We are buoyed by the recent show of support and the reaffirmation of the importance of having independent voices in Utah. Thank you to all – from individual donors to local businesses to members of the nonprofit community who encouraged their own supporters to support us as well.

Stay tuned for more information about the course forward for KCPW, and again, thank you.
