(KCPW News) State leaders celebrated last year when Forbes ranked Utah number one in the country for business. But they won’t be celebrating a new ranking from that magazine.
Forbes has just listed Salt Lake City as America’s ninth-most toxic city.
An online article notes the presence of Kennecott and oil refineries as contributors to the problem.
It’s accompanied by a photo of the city’s skyline with a thick layer of smog hanging over it.
(Correction: A previous version of this article noted Forbes listed Huntsman as a contributor, which it did at the time. However, the reference to Huntsman has been removed from the Forbes article. Huntsman does not have a manufacturing facility in Utah.)
