Lee: I’m Basically an Absolute “No” on Debt Ceiling Hike

While a government shutdown has been averted, another major consequential vote is on the horizon: whether or not to raise the federal debt ceiling. And with a divided Congress, the outcome of that vote is up in the air. While freshman Utah Senator Mike Lee has only been in Congress for a matter of months, the Republican is making his voice heard, especially on budgetary matters.

(KCPW News) While a government shutdown has been averted, another major consequential vote is on the horizon: whether or not to raise the federal debt ceiling. And with a divided Congress, the outcome of that vote is up in the air. While freshman Utah Senator Mike Lee has only been in Congress for a matter of months, the Republican is making his voice heard, especially on budgetary matters. KCPW’s Jeff Robinson asked him whether there are any circumstances that would lead him to support raising the debt ceiling, or if he’s an absolute “no.”
