KCPW broadcast a panel discussion from the 14th annual Utah Humanities Book Festival, “Joe Hill and the History of Utah Radicalism” on Saturday, October.
In 1914, international controversy ignited when Joe Hill was convicted of murder in Salt Lake City and sentenced to death by firing squad. Many believed Hill was innocent, railroaded because of his association with the Industrial Workers of the World.
William M. Adler, author of The Man Who Never Died, the Life, Times and Legacy of Joe Hill, American Labor Icon, and John Sillito and John McCormick, co-authors of A History of Utah Radicalism participated in the panel.
