In honor of National Food Day, KCPW broadcast a forum on the 2012 Federal Farm Bill on Monday, October 24 live from the Salt Lake City Main Library.
The forum brought together a range of experts who explored how the Farm Bill impacts local food security, public health, and the ecological and economic sustainability of our regional food system.
The panel included:
- Utahns Against Hunger Executive Director Gina Cornia
- Utah State University Professor of Sociology Dr. Douglas Jackson-Smith
- Public Health Nutritionist Patrice Isabella of the Utah Department of Health
- Salt Lake City Councilman J.T. Martin
Salt Lake City Mayor Ralph Becker introduced the program, which was moderated by former Mayor Ted Wilson.
