(KCPW News) West Valley City Mayor Mike Winder has resigned from his day job at a local firm that does public relations and marketing after admitting he’d written articles for several news outlets while pretending to be someone else. The part-time mayor was looking to bring some “good news” to his city, which he says was too often the focus of crime stories. As KCPW’s Whittney Evans reports, Winder told the West Valley City Council Tuesday night he understands that his actions have tarnished the reputation of his former employer.
