(KCPW News) Former Democratic Salt Lake City Mayor Rocky Anderson says neither the Democrats nor the Republicans are moving the country in a direction that most Americans want to see it go. That’s why he’s establishing his own political party and likely throwing his hat into the 2012 Presidential race. Anderson, who’s now Executive Director of High Road for Human Rights, abandoned the Democratic Party this summer, saying it lacked any spine. Now he hopes to get the Presidential nod with his new Justice Party. KCPW’s Whittney Evans spoke to Anderson about where his former party went wrong, and how he thinks the Justice Party will make things right.
Anderson will have to navigate the state by state rules for getting a new political party on the election ballot. He plans to officially announce his bid for the Presidency this month.
