(KCPW News) “Think Romney saved Utah’s Olympic Games? Think again.” Those are the exact words on the cover of Salt Lake Magazine’s latest issue, as its cover story, “The Myth of Mitt,” examines just how much Mitt Romney was responsible for the success of the 2002 Winter Games, and whether the bid scandal surrounding them was much of a scandal at all. Marcie Young Cancio is Editor of Salt Lake Magazine, and journalist Matthew LaPlante wrote the story. KCPW’s Jeff Robinson spoke with them, asking LaPlante why he wrote that in historical context, the Salt Lake scandal was an Olympic-sized trifle.
