Award-winning author Terry Tempest Williams looked forward to reading the volumes of journals her mother left to her after her death. But when the time came, Williams found only empty pages. The blank pages invited questions and in a new memoir, she explores the silence for answers. On Monday, Williams joins us to talk about her latest book, “When Women Were Birds.”

The west edge of Salt Lake’s downtown is full of old warehouses, vacant lots and local businesses, but a growing number of residents and property owners think it could be much more. On Monday, we learn about The Granary District and efforts to create a walkable, vibrant urban neighborhood.
