(KCPW News) The Salt Lake County Jail is changing the way they handle mug shots, saying they want to stop outside groups from exploiting the photos for monetary gain.
“There have been some issues with other privately run enterprises that are using booking photos not only from our agency, but from other agencies, and posting them online, in magazines, and newspapers and that was one of the main concerns that was brought the Sheriff’s attention,” said Sergeant Cammie Skogg with the Salt Lake County Sheriff’s Office.Â
Skogg says the Salt Lake County Sheriff’s Office will continue to provide booking photos through a GRAMA request or a request through the agency’s Public Information Officer.
