(KCPW News) The first annual Salt Lake Comic Con drew record crowds on September 5, 6, and 7. Over 70,000 people attended the three day event, and at least 40,000 attended on Saturday, the final day, alone. With the Salt Palace Convention Center reaching maximum capacity Saturday afternoon, organizers were forced to turn away thousands who had been waiting in long lines outside. According to the Governor’s office, the event was the largest convention ever held in the state of Utah.
