2/21/14: Google Fiber, megahotel, Medicaid

Google announces it’s looking at the possibility of installing a fiber network in Salt Lake City. The proposed Salt Lake City convention center hotel clears a legislative hurdle. Gov. Gary Herbert blasts a state substitute for Medicaid, calling the plan unveiled by House Republicans “illogical.” And he joins Senate leaders with doubts on how to fund Speaker Becky Lockhart’s ambitious school technologyconcept.

This week, Tribune reporters Kirsten Stewart, Robert Gehrke and Christopher Smart, as well as columnist Paul Rolly, join Jennifer Napier-Pearce to process the week’s top headlines.
