Tramautic Brain Injury – or TBI – has received a lot of coverage lately as the National Football League grapples with the incidence of injury in its ranks. But there’s more to the story. In Utah alone, over 50,000 people live with the challenges of traumatic brain injury and each year 20,000 Utahns are treated in emergency rooms with these injuries.
Today we’re joined by George Gehling, Executive Director the Brain Injury Alliance of Utah, and by Dr. Teresa Such-Neibar, a pediatric rehabilitation physician at Primary Children’s Medical Center and Associate Professor at the University of Utah Health Sciences Center, to learn more.
