Dr. Michael Mann is a well-known climatologist who helped pioneer methods to track global temperatures and the climate through the centuries. This breakthrough allowed scientists to show the marked increase in temperatures that stemmed from an enormous increase in global carbon emissions after the industrial revolution.
Mann, who currently leads Penn State University’s Earth System Science Center, was in Salt Lake in May at the behest of the local environmental nonprofit HEAL Utah. KCPW’s Roger McDonough spoke with Dr. Mann while he was in town.
